The Homestead features championship golf courses (surcharges): The Old Course, designed by Donald Ross, and The Cascades, designed by William S. Flynn. The Cascades is consistently rated one of the top courses in the nation by publications such as
Golfweek and
Golf Magazine. All courses are ensconced in the natural contours and breathtaking views of the Allegheny Mountains.
Mineral spring waters and local Allegheny ingredients characterize The Spa at The Homestead, which offers a full range of massage, facial, and body treatments (surcharges). The spa offers couples treatment rooms, as well as a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. A lap pool, in an elegant room with arched windows, is naturally heated. An outdoor pool has lounge chairs and a bar, and a children's pool is adjacent.
4 tennis courts are also on site. Activities include: fly fishing; hayrides; horseback-riding lessons; guided mountain biking and hiking; a shooting club; and sporting clays, trap, and skeet shooting (surcharges). Seasonal activities also include archery, paintball, falconry, and canoeing and kayaking.
In the winter months, the resort offers skiing with chairlifts, and ice skating at an Olympic-size rink (surcharges).
