Terraced above Lake Oconee, an expansive complex contains a 90-by-40-foot pool with an infinity edge facing the lake, a 15-foot-diameter children's pool with its own sundeck, and a 10-person spa tub partly shaded by a wooden arbor. Pools' faux charcoal-gray granite lining creates a "natural" look. Sundecks are furnished with umbrellas and cushioned lounge chairs.
A 60-by-20-foot lap pool provides year-round swimming inside a two-story pavilion with a vaulted bleached-wood ceiling and stone accent wall. Cushioned lounge chairs and potted plants surround the pool, and adjacent to a wood-burning fireplace is a spa tub that can accommodate up to four guests.
A 40-yard beach furnished with cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas lies on Lake Oconee. Nearby, pine trees shade a sand playground.
This Ritz-Carlton offers 99 championship golf holes on five courses. The Oconee, designed by Rees Jones, includes five holes in which Lake Oconee comes into play, four others with lake views, an oversized practice fairway, and a chipping green. The Great Waters, designed by Jack Nicklaus, features nine lakeside holes and a 10,000-square-foot practice green. The Plantation, designed by Bob Cupp with consultation from Fuzzy Zoeller and Hubert Green, offers wide, rolling fairways. The National, designed by Tom Fazio, offers 27 holes, some tucked into the lake's shores, with narrow fairways lined by pines and dogwoods and large, rolling greens. Reynolds Landing was the first golf course built on Lake Oconee and acquired by Reynolds Plantation in 2005. This Scottish-style championship course was built on hilly terrain with water features coming into play on three holes.
With five signature world-class courses, Top 100 Instructor Charlie King is available for a lesson at the Reynolds Golf Academy, and the Kingdom, where the MATT (Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade) System is available for club-fitting and where PGA professionals hone their games.
