The resort is two blocks from the Steamboat Ski Area and two blocks from Gondola Square—which features downhill skiing and snowboarding. Other winter activities include alpine skiing, water skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, night-time ski jumping and snow tubing, snowmobile tours, ice climbing, sleigh rides, dog sledding, snowshoeing, ice fishing, hot-air balloon and horseback riding.
Summer activities include hiking, rock climbing, tennis, four-wheel drive tours, photography tours, hot-air balloon rides, fishing, miniature golf, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, river rafting, water tubing, use of hot springs, rowing, boating, running tracks, gondola rides, guided nature walks, and cattle drives.
ResortQuest Trappeur's Crossing Resort is located in Steamboat Springs Mountain Village, two blocks from Mt. Werner and from Gondola Square. Steamboat's Mt. Werner has a summit elevation of 10,568 feet. The resort has a 3,668-foot vertical drop and 2,939 skiable acres with 164 trails: 13 percent beginner, 56 percent intermediate, and 31 percent advanced. These are accessible by 20 lifts, including a gondola and four high-speed quads.
The average snowfall is 337 inches (in January, an average of 95 inches is champagne powder) thanks to the resort's location on the windward side of the Park Range, right before the Continental Divide.
